CCGT Powerplant

This project began as my first really big task in 3D software — to recreate a complex industrial system from the ground up.
Built first in Cinema 4D and later fully developed in Blender, the CCGT powerplant became the foundation for a series of technical animations showing how our company’s devices operate within real industrial environments.
It was my first large-scale 3D project handled entirely on my own, combining structural planning, detailed modeling, and more advanced visual concepts, like depth of field, using correct HDRIs etc.

Challenge

Getting the scale right was one of the toughest parts — with few references, I spent a lot of time adjusting components through trial and error until everything felt consistent.
I also ran into performance issues in Cinema 4D as the scene grew, which pushed me to migrate the entire project to Blender.
Rebuilding it there improved the workflow and made handling complex structures far smoother.

Summary

As a side project, it stretched over a month of steady iteration — adjusting proportions, resolving mesh issues, and refining the overall structure step by step.
I intentionally kept the model in a clean, white style to avoid visual noise and keep the focus on the system itself rather than the surrounding environment.
The final result you can see in form of a video.
